Description
A beautiful example of a non-date Omega Seamaster, Ref: 165.009 or 14761. The dial is where the money is at, for us at least! As ever a photo doesn’t do justice, the pink patina mixed in with the original silver is like a piece of artwork. The heavier patina on the text making it pop out too, could a dial have aged much better and in the right places?
The muscular case has been polished along with the original 1502 rice bracelet, mainly to add the contrast of the brushing and brighten the steel in places. There are still very minor marks left so the crisp edges of the case are retained.
The movement is the Cal: 552, produced from 1959 to 1963. The 550 family is beloved among collectors and watchmakers alike for the quality and work-horse nature of the movement. Omega set the world record for the longest continuous production of chronometer specification with this family.
As part of our service we replaced the crown for a new old stock genuine Seamaster crown and as stated, gave the case and bracelet a light polishing. The movement was serviced and tested for daily use.
For us it doesn’t get much better than this for a non-date vintage Seamaster. It is all original and genuine from the crystal to the bracelet, and is ready to join a vintage collection.
The watch comes with an original Omega box, our paperwork and our 12 month warranty.
